In this role in Shirehampton, Bristol, you’ll support a lady in her 60's who has learning disability and lives in her own home, who likes to live a full life and direct her own support. You will join a supportive team and you will be able to add value to the service, ideally you will have previous experience of support work and will have a driving licence.
The lady you’ll support lives in her own home. You’ll support her with everyday tasks (for example cleaning and cooking) as well as to do the things she enjoys, for example going to cafes, to the cinema and on holiday, as well as drawing. She only requires minimal prompts with personal care. You’ll also support with her mental health needs.
There are lone working shifts, so a robust, patient and confident approach is required.

You’ll need good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. Respectful of people’s differences, you can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach. You can work 24/7 shifts including weekends and evenings / nights. A full driving licence is essential for this role.

All support workers work flexible shifts to provide a 24/7 service to the people we support.
Full-time support workers work 37.5 hours plus one sleep-in a week (pay for these sleep-ins is included in the annual salary figures shown above). We also have some services where sleep-ins are not required. The salary for these roles is £16,953 - £17,774 pa.
All support workers have the option of working additional hours or sleep-ins in a range of services and are paid £50-£70 extra per sleep-in.
