This is a rewarding role supporting four mature gentlemen, whom have learning disabilities and share a home in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol. They have many interests; from working in a community farm garden to going out regularly. You don’t necessarily need experience as we provide full training.
You’ll join the friendly team, enabling the individuals to live their lives; there’s lots of variety. You’ll support them in all aspects of daily living; from cooking to managing finances. Supporting with personal care, mobility (pushing wheelchairs) and medication needs is also key. As a support worker you’ll also support the gentlemen to do things in their community; interests range from the cinema, gardening and going to the pub, to the theatre and the zoo. If you’re new to social care, we will support you gain the nationally recognised Care Certificate. If you have experience as a care assistant or care worker in a care home, you’ll discover we provide plenty of on-going training, support to achieve relevant qualifications and career progression.Provider Details:

You’ll need good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. Respectful of people’s differences, you can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach. You can work 24/7 shifts including weekends and evenings / nights. A full driving licence is essential for some roles.

All support workers work flexible shifts to provide a 24/7 service to the people we support.
Full-time support workers work 37.5 hours plus one sleep-in a week (pay for these sleep-ins is included in the annual salary figures shown above). We also have some services where sleep-ins are not required. The salary for these roles is £16,953 - £17,774 pa.
All Support Workers have the option of working additional hours or sleep-ins in a range of services and are paid £50-£70 extra per sleep-in.
