Covid-19 update

The current pandemic has brought restrictions to staff movement to keep staff and the people we support safe. Current Government guidance states that care staff can work at one only setting/location within the Health & Social Care sector. This includes work across different organisations. Therefore, if you are successful you will be allocated to one of our services to work at regularly.

We are currently looking for candidates that can work in the following areas:

  • Yate
  • St George
  • Kingswood
  • Little Stoke
  • Almondsbury
  • Winterbourne
  • Brentry 

We offer induction shifts in a named service, full medication competency, paid training sessions and an extremely competitive hourly rate – including extra pay for sleep-ins. Almost 90% of our services are rated Good or Outstanding by CQC, so you can be confident you will be working alongside some of the best teams in the West!

Provider Details:

Being casual means that you will choose when to work; being able to accommodate it around other work commitments, studies or caring responsibilities.

We understand that people want casual work for a variety of reasons, whether that’s to supplement a part-time job or study elsewhere, or as part of juggling child-care; which is also why we interview every week so that you won’t be kept hanging around if you are shortlisted. Plus, if you can’t make one interview date, there is another along really quickly.

As a Casual Support Worker, you will be working with the people we support in our Learning Disability, Mental Health or Eldercare residential or Supported Living services to develop their independence and support them live the way they choose.

Due to the current pandemic there are not many opportunities to be out and about, so our teams have got creative designing a wide range of activities to suit the interests and needs of the people living at our services – movie sessions, arts & crafts, virtual music sessions, social Zoom meetings… you name it!

About you:

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

As a member of our support team you will be assisting people we support with their day-to-day activities such as personal care, cooking, housework, going to the shops or attending any activities they may be interested in. You will work with these individuals to encourage independence, choice and involvement in their own lives, and to promote their active participation in their chosen community.

To apply you will:

Have at least 6 months’ experience as a Support Worker/ Care Assistant or the equivalent in a similar setting
Have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, the people we support and a range of stakeholders
Be kind and caring, have a proactive attitude and willingness to be flexible and adaptable
Be able to work on your own and as part of a team
Be willing to learn and committed to delivering a high quality service to the people we support
