With experience of working with older people within a hospital, care home or social care environment, our Senior Nursing Care Assistants understand the complex needs of our residents and will enjoy acting as a role model to our teams of Nursing Care Assistants in everything they do.

As well as attending to residents’ personal care, helping them get dressed, washed and receive medication and clinical care, as instructed by our Registered and Lead Nurses, you’ll contribute to their well-being by ensuring a homely, safe and positive environment in which to live.  As a senior, you’ll be expected to lead a shift within the unit under the supervision of the Registered and Lead Nurses.  You’ll allocate work and duties and provide day to day supervision promoting best practice and compliance at all times.

With your experience of working with older people within a hospital, care home or social care environment, you’ll understand the complex needs of our residents and will enjoy acting as a role model to our teams of Nursing Care Assistants/Support worker in everything you do.  You will be required to administer medication and liaise with doctors as appropriate.

This position is based in John Wills House. Part time either 19 or 28.5 hours per week. Between 2 or 3, 9.5 hour shifts per week (1 hour unpaid break). Starting at 9 pm to 7.30 am. 

Salary:
£10.38 basic per hour.
£12.68 per hour including night enhancement.
£14.03 including weekend enhancement.

About you:

The role requires a strong team player, supervisory skills and someone who can think quickly on their feet and trouble shoot problems and issues throughout the day. Diplomacy and sensitivity are key. You’ll know when to refer issues to your line manager but you’ll also be able to spot potential problems and trouble-shoot throughout the shift. You’ll be used to putting others’ first, building relationships of trust and resolving issues with residents and their families to ensure well-being and safety as a priority. You understand the challenges of the role but for you, they are outweighed by knowing that you’ll enrich the quality of people’s lives.
